Who are the intended users of the facility?
The MCT is a shared lab with an intended use to support scientific research throughout Stanford and other academic/government institutes. We accept commercial users, but acceptance is on a case-by-case basis that is dependent on the scope of the project (i.e. the time commitment of the instrument and facility staff).
Can I send my samples to the MCT to be scanned as a service?
The MCT is a user facility that encourages researchers to be trained on the instrument. However, we do offer users the option to send or deliver their samples to be scanned at the MCT if needed. Users are required to first consult with the facility about their project before sending in samples.
Is there anything that cannot be scanned?
The instrument is not available for live animal studies. We recommend checking in the Stanford School of Medicine for CT labs that are better equipped for those type of studies.

Parking
There are two parking structures near the lab:
Roble Field Garage (519 Via Ortega Dr)
Via Ortega Garage (285 Panama St)
Visitor parking is designated by signage indicating "Visitor Pay Parking" and includes a Zone number. The signage will direct you on your preferred payment method (mobile app, online payment, or by phone). More directions are available on the Stanford transportation website along with up-to-date visitor parking rates.
Public Transportation
The lab is accessible by public transportation through Stanford's free shuttle service, Marguerite, which connects to the nearby Palo Alto Transit Station. This station is a major transportation hub served by regional rail service (Caltrain), local bus services (SamTrans and Santa Clara VTA), and regional bus service (Dumbarton Express).
Rideshare Drop-off
If you are ride-sharing, it is best to be dropped off near Roble Field Garage because cars are blocked from going closer to the building than this point.
